Valentines "Day”
Valentine’s Day…
For many of us, tomorrow is a day that we either love or one that we dread. As for me, the majority of my valentines days growing up had been ones where I closed my eyes as I scrolled through an Instagram feed filled with couples and romance. It made it hard to feel happy alone.
But what if I told you that this Valentine’s Day is one that I am jumping for joy thinking about; And that it’s not because of a boy, but rather-it’s because of the creator of love itself.
The Lord has a way with my heart that is so beautiful. I’ve shared some of my favorite moments in the pictures above. He captivates me with the sunrises and the sunsets by the lake. He whispers to me over scripture in the mornings and leaves me awestruck by his gifts and his grace. He is truly after my heart and it’s beautiful. Because of him, everyday has become a Valentine’s Day to me.
You see, God loves us so much that he created us to be in relationship with him. Many of us have taken this desire for a relationship and have looked for it in all of the wrong places-including myself. But it wasn’t until I looked to Jesus that EVERYTHING changed. Why? Because he is love! The love I so desperately craved was only fully satisfied in relationship with him and knowing his heart for me. It could not be found in anything anyone else had to offer.
I want to remind whoever is reading this that even if you feel alone- know that God has been with you from the very beginning. Jesus loves you so much that he chose death on a cross so that you may be in relationship with him forever. That is LOVE! Literally the Bible is written as a love story from God to you. And until God is enough for you, no person or relationship will ever be.
Don’t let February 14th be the only time you celebrate love. Every day the Lord gives us is a “Valentine’s Day” and is one to celebrate
