The Butterfly Bracelet
Y’all see the butterfly bracelet?
God did something cool through it- and it didn’t even start out as mine…
Today at work an older lady came in and was talking to me and my boss at the check out line about her trip to the town square and some about Jesus. She had that glow that radiates the joy of Christ so even if she hadn’t said anything, you could have guessed she had a relationship with the Lord. As she was talking, I noticed that she had a watch with a butterfly pin on it and it prompted me to ask her if she loved butterfly’s. (If y’all know me- you know that one of the ways I am reminded of Gods love and faithfulness is butterflies.) Anyways, when I asked her that question she was in shock, asking me how I knew she liked them so much . I told her I noticed her bracelet and asked if they had some special meaning meaning to her. She told me that after her brother died, it was her reminder from God that he is with her and is faithful to her. I shared with her my love of butterflies and why they mean so much to me. Without hesitation she took off her bracelet and put it on my wrist. I told her that was not necessary but she insisted that I would have it. Butterflies meant a lot to the both of us and she wanted it to be a reminder that God is always faithful. We both ended up crying and giving each other a hug- sharing something that truly only God could have orchestrated.
“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” 1 John 4:12
I didn’t know that lady, but I do know the God that we both serve. It amazes me how light recognizes light and how we were able to love one another in a way that didn’t require time- just Jesus.
That was one of the sweetest moments I’ve ever experienced. God is good.
